I have bought a set of expensive bath towels. They look beautiful (big and fluffy) but when I use them after a shower they have no absorbency. They feel like i am toweling with a silk or satin sheet. I have washed them several times with fabric softener, but little improvement.

Cotton types and thread count would really help, so far I see that the higher the number of thread the more expensive so maybe their softer but I don’t know.
