I have bought a set of expensive bath towels. They look beautiful (big and fluffy) but when I use them after a shower they have no absorbency. They feel like i am toweling with a silk or satin sheet. I have washed them several times with fabric softener, but little improvement.

I’m wearing a silk dress with opaque black tights tonight to the theater, and when I did a test run with the outfit, I had some serious static cling on my thighs and butt. How do I get rid of this? I’ve read that you can use a fabric softener sheet, but does that really work? Does it have to be a certain kind? Any other options? Thanks in advance!

I bought some bed sheets for a deep mattress I have but they don’t fit because i forgot to factor in the featherbed i have over my pillowtop, I cannot exchange them for the next bed size up because I have a king already. The company does not do returns for this reason, and the whole bedset was $3000…is there anyone who knows about sewing who could tell me if it is possible to take these to someone and have a few inches of fabric added to the bottom so these fit over my mattress correctly? They are made of Modal and Silk….is this possible to have done or will there be too much stress on the seams?

I’m looking for soft sheets for my new queen size bed, my parents have silk sheets which are awesome but their too expensive. About 2 days ago a friend of mine told me that there are cheaper sheets out there that are soft and have a silk feeling, so I’ve been looking on-line to see prices but they have so many different thread counts and cotton types. Does anyone know which sheets, non silk, are soft and have a silk feeling? Cotton types and thread count would really help, so far I see that the higher the number of thread the more expensive so maybe their softer but I don’t know.

Or if not silk ones, really nice high-count ones in size Full, or if necessary, Queen? “High count” means 800 thread count or higher.
